Mobile Park Wastewater Treatment

Modified existing system design to reduce material and installation cost for a mobile park wastewater project.

Site of the upcoming trailer park in St-Charles, Ontario, graded and trenched for the wastewater system installation

Project overview

Canadian Shield Consultants modified an existing wastewater system design to reduce material and installation costs for a mobile park project in St-Charles, Ontario.

The challenge

An MECP-approved wastewater treatment design exceeded the client's budget. Rising material costs and complex permitting threatened project viability, and the client needed a compliant, affordable alternative without sacrificing practical system performance.

Canadian Shield solution

Canadian Shield stepped in as the lead environmental engineering consultant and delivered a cost-optimized redesign around an EnviroSeptic system. The approach eliminated high-cost components such as oversized tanks and deep trenches, reduced material volume by more than 40%, liaised directly with the MECP on the client's behalf, managed the full permitting and approval process, and coordinated geotechnical, hydrogeological, and installation oversight.

Proven result

The redesigned system was approved and installed in 2014, delivered significant capital cost savings, secured MECP approval with full compliance, and has operated since installation. The client received faster permitting and a system that continues to perform.
