Our History.

Canadian Shield Consultants, established in St-Charles Ontario in 1996, first became involved in environmental consulting during the diversion of wastewater regulations from the Environmental Protection Act to the Ontario Building Code in 1998 sensing a need for service delivery between the regulatory framework and the public. This has led to sales and service of onsite wastewater and water treatment systems for clients in mining, forestry, tourism, business, industrial, residential, commercial and First Nations. The firm engineers, designs, manufactures, installs and maintains the self-contained systems, which are primarily used in remote areas inaccessible by road. In addition, the company provides the following environmental engineering services including assessments, feasibility studies, consulting and engineered design. Recently, Canadian Shield has expanded its core services to include environmental engineering and field support. Our current customer base is located primarily in Ontario with additional clients in the Far North and other areas of the country.

We are continually researching technologies for treatment of all types of wastewater. These research projects focus on the various nutrient treatments with Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food (OMAF) and Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) requirements. In addition, our staff is trained in the implementation of these advanced technologies in wastewater treatment. At the forefronts are: peat moss technologies, Ecoflo linear biofilters, wetland biofilter systems (WBS), and alternative drainage systems – non pipe and stone.

We also offer a complete line of high quality products for retail and wholesale. Our featured products are polyethylene septic tanks, effluent filters and accessories. Our agency is well versed in the field of environmental science and risk assessment. We have been involved in specific wastes and operations and the impacts on the natural environment. We are equipped to handle Hydrogeological Studies under the Ontario Water Resources Act (OWRA) and Aggregate Resources Act (ARA). Our work promises a prosperous and environmentally sound future!

All workmen on the site knew their jobs and performed all labour with such care and skill. I must add a personal comment that the workers were very amicable, answered all our questions and did not mind the interruptions when we asked for clarification as to what they were doing"
